I've already posted about the campaign to fund pieces of talent 2 but now Joe Stauffer is offering the dvd of pieces of talent for only $7.77 a great price for a blind buy. I'm working on my year in review post now and unsurprisingly I will discuss the movie again in much more depth.

Help get Pieces Of Talent 2 made!

I enjoy gutterballs and the guinea pig series as much as any other gore hound but for me Pieces Of Talent was one of my 2 picks for best of 2014 (full reviews forthcoming) and for some reason it's having trouble gaining traction to get funded. Head to www.piecesoftalent.com and check out the perks, while you're there pick up pieces on dvd. And a poster. And a vhs. It's a truly incredible piece of cinema that I love beyond words. In fact you can stream the whole movie direct from the site. So get to it!

REVIEW: Die-B-Que

Let me start by saying that this review is not a positive one. In fact I almost hope it serves to steer people away from being completely ripped off.

Back in the day Chris Seaver used to run a little company called Low Budget Pictures, which spawned some great micro budget films. It gave us the filthy mcnasty trilogy, mulva, teen ape and more. But now he focuses on a schlock horror company called Warlock Video. This was my introduction to the company and to be honest I paid basically the cost of shipping for it secondhand after being told how awful it was,but I'm a glutton for punishment and enjoy this stuff so I gave it a shot. For starters the film is 33 minutes long, not 85. There's some behind the scenes boredom that fills out the time but 33 minutes of poorly acted goreless nothingness is all you get. There's one cool vomit scene, but that's not nearly enough to redeem it. That is honestly all the review of the movie I can give. 100% forgettable.

Now the cover art is incredible. Supremely misleading. But incredible. However that's the high point. The packaging is awful as well. You get a cheap paper print out of said cover art and a blank dvdr. I'm all for the diy scene having spent years in grindcore and noise bands releasing cassettes and records. I also know that there's a fine line between making your money back and ripping people off. This film was probably shot for $50 or so,and given the running time and ridiculously cheap packaging I'd expect a price of max $7.50 shipped to cover the materials needed to make it and shipping, but instead this diy piece of shit is $15 dollars. That is insultingly overpriced for what you get. If it was a full length, had an attempt at disk art, something,it may have justified $10 max. If I come across more warlock videos in the $5 range I'll most likely take a chance as I know Chris Seaver can do great things. But so far my impressions are not good on any aspect of the film or packaging.

Gore score-0/10
Fun factor-0/10
Replay factor-0/10
Packaging-2/10 for the cover art alone
